I don't know if any of you are as excited for Killzone as I am, but I've been looking for every piece of info I can find. If there's anything cool you know about it that you'd like to share, post it here. Here are some things that I thought were worth sharing.

Killzone 2 General Info
Release Date-February 27, 2009
Pre-Order at gamestop for an exclusive demo
Pre-Order at Amazon.com for exclusive ISA and Helghast costumes for HOME

KZ will run at 720p, 30 fps

It should take between 10-12 hours to complete the single player campaign

KZ will use a lean and peak cover system, which is entirely in first person view



Multiplayer

There are 12 visual models (skins) for online play

You can play with up to 32 players in a game

There will be 8 multiplayer maps upon release

There are 12 ranks to make your way through

There will not be vehicles online upon release

There are 5 Multiplayer game modes. Assassination, Bodycount, Capture and Hold, Search and Destroy, and Search and Retrieve.

KZ will support up to 64 player clans and will have a point system to rate clans against one another. You will also be able to split up into 4 player squads.

KZ has classes which give players special abilities and allows to make custom loadouts.
Classes are as follows:

* Rifleman:
The default multiplayer character is assigned when no primary badge is selected. A secondary badge may still be added. Riflemen can start with most weapons, except for the specialized ones.

* Engineer:
Primary badge ability: Sets up an automated turret which targets the enemy.
Secondary badge ability: Repairs ammunition dispensers, mounted guns, and automated turrets.

* Medic:
Primary badge ability: Revives downed team mates.
Secondary badge ability: Throws a health pack, which can be picked up by other players.

* Scout:
Primary badge ability: Uses a cloaking suit to become near-invisible.
Secondary badge ability: Tags all on-screen enemy players with a hidden marker, which broadcasts their coordinates to team mates.

* Assault:
Primary badge ability: Dons heavy armour twice as strong as normal.
Secondary badge ability: Temporarily boosts running speed.

* Tactician:
Primary badge ability: Throws a coloured smoke grenade, which serves as a spawn point.
Secondary badge ability: Requests air support from a sentry bot, which targets the enemy.

* Saboteur:
Primary badge ability: Assumes the disguise of a randomly selected enemy player.
Secondary badge ability: Throws a sticky, proximity-activated C-4 charge.


When you die, it will show you in real time what is happening at each spawn point so you can choose where to spawn

damn thanks for all that. Killzone is the reason I got a ps3 over xbox. I do know that it's not coming out on xbox 360 who claim it's not even that good of a game (jealousy)

Xile needs to be seen on this game. nice work evan. alot of info. im buyn it for sure. craziest thing i saw was that revival gun. WTF. looks cool. Feb 2009.

no one knows when it is or how to get in yet, but i'll let you know as soon as the info is released. all that's known is "it's coming soon" whenever that is

If your gonna become a good sniper in this game you better make nice nice with Mr. Sixaxis.Thats the only type of control that cannot be changed.From what I saw in the 1up show hour demo play of it is that it helps a lot if you get good with it.
